Many adult survivors of early childhood abuse still carry around the effects of that abuse in their nervous systems.  This can make life difficult to navigate. 

Our mental health system retraumatizes them and our social and public support systems are ableist and ineffective. 

In this current political climate where acts of trafficking makes headlines every day without reporting any consequences to abusers, life can feel particularly frightening and challenging.

I have sought out specialized training and regularly seek out consultation to prepare me for the challenges of those who have experienced some of the most unimaginable of childhood experiences.  The work is incredibly rewarding and equally as challenging.
